Re: Rebel Alliance Strategy Announcement.

I wouldnt say that TY but it does need an update. Aside from the layout theres not much detail on the ground like some more varied plants and there should be some dead ewoks here and there.

Well considering the lambda is only about 1000 meters from the Bunker, the absolute absence of the hill overlooking the Landing Pad and the general inaccuracies in the geography. I definitely think it needs to be redone.

Re: Rebel Alliance Strategy Announcement.

I wouldn't mind seeing the map retooled so it's more faithful to the film and focuses on the bunker and not the goddamn tree village, even though the tree village is fun at times.

What I don't want to see is another map incorporating the bunker more heavily, though.

Re: Rebel Alliance Strategy Announcement.

The issue with the imperial base- with its defences of rockcrete walls and turbolasers is that its actually harder to defend than a treehouse made of wood and twigs with no spawn point.

In fact- the landing platform is an elevated position from which rebels can snipe with relative impunity.
When you walk up the ramp to the firing step you find that there are trees that block your line of sight, as well as that corridor leading out.

If I were an Imperial officer I would:
1: Shoot the architect.
2: Have down those damn trees blasted to atoms for about 50 metres minimum from the base & platform
3: Place a spawn point on the ATAT platform which can now be used by snipers to shoot in directions other than the base.
4: get support personel to fix the turbolifts to the upper control room of the outpost. Who is manning those screens? Ladders would do in a pinch- we need to keep those rebels off the roof!
5: deploy ewebs on the roof- now that they're not being sniped from our own platform.
6: place the turbolaser controls in the upper control room- if thats not possible I'd at least put a door on the control booth- like the probe droid control area.
7: deploy a shield mechanism, like the one we had on Ryloth? Not really- that would suck.

Yeah just 2 days ago I went up there with my Packard Mortar Launcher and started raining red balls-o-death on the Imps.  Got some chuckles watching them scurry around like ants.  Still all it took to clear me off was a sneaky sniper hiding in the bushes to pop me in the noggin.

I'd be 100% in favor of Endor Strike Team being altered. I don't feel it needs to be redone from scratch as it's a good map in my eyes, and it plays fine with the exception of griefers capping the roof and the bottleneck of the Ewok village. But it definitely needs altering. Perhaps I'll start an "Endor Strike Team revision thread". There are several issues with it I'd like addressed.

Have you looked closely to the kits? If so, you probably have noticed that HW kit has PSG(Portable Shield Generator), and sniper shots wont penetrate it. So drop a eweb to roof, and place PSG on top of it, problem solved.
