No, Crayola's right. Direct close-range hits with the PMG do little damage. Better to aim at their feet to impact on the ground and do ’em with the splash damage.

The rockets also have no effect at very close range. I think this is intentional; the rocket isn't armed until it reaches a safe range. That's how it was in vanilla.

But still, a 3-5 pound projectile traveling at very fast speeds impacting your chest/head would kill ya...  Even w/o it exploding.

I dunno about you guys but i find it quite easy to rocket snipe. I hit omen in the head with my launcher in ice plains the other day. From a fair distance. tongue

If he was a former NFL receiver, with good hands , he might have grabbed the projectile ( with gloves of course ) and re-directed it smoothly toward the sender ...

Yeah, I'm totally with Crayola on this one.  Rocket damage to other players, vehicles and starfighters is far too low, especially considering the time it takes to re-load the damn things!  3 or 4 rockets should take out a AT-ST, no matter where you hit it (and only two if you get it right on the arse).  And two or three should take out a TIE, otherwise what's the point of them being anti-aircraft?!

That's the main reason I stay away from that weapon, it's next to useless.  It's far quicker to run up to a tank or walker and plant some sticky bombs on it (as long as those pesky walkers stand still long enough!), and you only need to do that 3 for 4 times to finish them off.

Bomb damage from bombers is also too low. I flew a bunch of sorties over windmilly cp on ryloth earlier and got a bunch of hit indicators for my trouble.
In BF2 if a bomb splash damage hit you- you were dead.
If a bomb missed your tank slightly, you were still dead.

Ineffective bombs encourage horrible slowflying with blasters to deal with tanks, which passes the airpower advantage even further into rebel territory.
