I'm not turning a blind eye to anything. I said stats are not an issue among the regular players. None of the people whinging on about stats are regular players...
The regular players just get on the servers and have fun. They all know the score so they form squads to better work together and kick the other side's collective arse. Some of us have so much fun that we play the game as often as we possibly can.
TYD2Y, what makes you think people are using the support kit for stats purposes? Admittedly, it is a good points earner, but have you considered that they may simply like playing Support class? I know I do. I also know from playing with and against 'top' players like RSFKrow, Athlon, Adultswim and Burner460 that Trooper class is the kit with potential for getting more kills than any other, but no matter how I try, I just don't feel competent with Trooper class and therefore don't play it so much. There are quite a few players have done little but Heavy Trooper, because that's the default and they didn't realise they could change it! Each to his own. Stats haters seem to assume that every time somebody does something they don't agree with, the motive was stats. It's an irrational prejudice. I'm one of those whose glass is half full. I like being that way, because I've got nothing to whinge about.
And locking your squad does nothing to promote teamplay. My squads are always open and I'll communicate on VOIP with anyone who can hear me and respond. Yes, it's frustrating when you get someone who just wants to do their own thing, but these are public servers we're talking about so it comes with the territory. There's also the chance that a new guy will react positively, take in what's being said and improve his own game as a result. Another one added to the buddy list...
