Re: Walk-Around AT-AT

What i like in 1942 it's the secret weapons addon. There is a DC3 and you can go insinde, awesome to simulate para-jump big_smile

Re: Walk-Around AT-AT

The fact of the matter is that 2142 remains the highest evolution of the battlefeild engine, taking away some things but giving many others. In the case of FS, we should just try to figure out ways to emulate or recreate the mechanics used successfully in 1942 and BFV. I mean import a Tango from BFV, and "fly" the thing thru space at various speeds to see what happens.
If the Tango showed similar attributes compared to being used in BFV, then we have discovered a way.
One of my theories is that 2142 titans and other large ships with that many polygons create the problems of movement, whereas the BFV TAngo or a 1942 warship has relatively light construction and provides a lighter load. That would lead to maybe making a corvette with reduced polygons and more of a BFV scaled geometry. You could still use really pretty skin maps to make the exterior look more complex.

Yeah yeah...I was just really hoping for free-moving. Besides, what if there is a garrison in the AT-AT, but it has a really dumb pilot? "Eh...what does this button do?" *opens doors* Then all of the soldiers are sitting ducks whether they like it or not.

Hey, the pilot is an officer... if an officer opens the door so the Troopers onboard can disembark or shoot from the AT-AT causualitys are tolerable... wink

Re: Walk-Around AT-AT

In the GC mod for 1942, when you make skydive with the millenium falcon ( you go high and jump, you are still in the falcon, it's funny ) you sometimes get out of the falcon. So yes, it's maybe a light structure problem ?

Re: Walk-Around AT-AT

I miss GC. One of the things I was trying to teach my pilots to do was let me stand on the boarding ramp while they flew over the ground, then slowed down, and let me jump out and live without them actually stopping. Now, this was challenging because GC didn't have parachutes. They were finally getting it right when I decided to go check out FS. big_smile

What's cool with 1942, it's that if you go on a spitfire/Stuka/messerchmit etc... wing, you will be able to stay in it ( dude, i played it again yesterday, there was a spawnkiller noob that i kicked, and then it was cool big_smile I love the Eagle Nest, i've found an AWESOME sniping place !
And I loooooove throwable knives big_smile
