Re: Commmunity Game 15th November

Hehe, I was one of the stormies pinned down on that balcony. I had a torpedo launcher, a perfect view of Rebel infantry and vehicles advancing up the hill, and team mates who kept spawning from the spawn beacon on the roof. And we could do nothing but hide behind our shields and watch, taking potshots at the enemy the short moment they were within our line of fire as they passed our house. I had a nice view of the city and Gallofree crash site, and knew that the sniper shooting at us could be literally anywhere down there and that there was no chance of us finding him and taking him down. One single sniper had a whole squad of infantry nearly completely pinned down.

As for Taloraan, I had fun as usual but was again annoyed by people taking capital ships off the map. Looking forward to the day we get that fixed, if we ever do hmm .

I liked the increased 'countdown time' upon loading in, gave no-one a head start and gave us time to form squads.

Good stuff.

Rebel snipers have such an advantage on that map though

Now that you say so, yes they do. They've got camouflage uniforms, lots of places to hide, and a Freerunner with a long-range radar that points out targets to them. Imperials have fewer sniping spots, shining white uniforms which are easily spotted from a mile away, and have their cover blown whenever the APC Freerunner decides to join in on the fun. I still consider the map fairly well balanced, though.

Re: Commmunity Game 15th November

It goes both ways, imperials always have the height advantage.

Yeah, when I did it I was thinking "hmmm... maybe 30 seconds is a little to much, maybe just 20 will do".  I'm glad I decided to shove it up to 30, it really did make the start of the games more balanced.

I had a great time in Convoy raid, first round as imps watching 3 or 4 sets of lasers join me in taking down a Y-wing, and the second flying as SamZi's gunner, and something like 7 TIES (5 all onscreen at once at one point) chasing us.  I got one off before they got us big_smile  Or the start of the first round of Taloraan, with what must have been 10 fighters all flying around each other.

Re: Commmunity Game 15th November

Fighters gave us Rebels one heck of a bad time on Taloraan today. I got into a CRV as a gunner and took off after a sister ship. We ended up chasing two Imperial ships off the map and were taken down by a Carrack Cruiser flanking us and, I seem to recall, a Lancer. And fighters, of course.

I respawned in a transport and formed up with a Frigate, and we went off in search of prey. A second transport joined us, but the Frigate lost us and was rammed by a Carrack Cruiser and exploded in a fireball which took both ships with it. Us transports limped over to another frigate and made a desperate dash for our A-Wing spawn area, but succumbed to overwhelming enemy firepower.

Keep them cap ships manned and together, people wink ! And never, ever leave your freighters behind, they're your #1 best friend as long as you're in a cap ship!
