  wonder if you can help?
im running bf2142 on patch 1.5 and have downloaded the v1.4 mod fs but dont know what im to do with it to get it working .......havent played for ages and im wanting too.....any help will do.;)

Hey spike.
once your 2142 is patched to 1.5, all you need to do is run the 1.4 install. You then launch the game via the launcher it places on your desktop- which downloads and installs updates automatically.
Once it is finished, you are ready to go.

jump in, log in and then set up your server list options like so:

make sure your view distance is set to 100% and join a server! If none are populated (as sometimes happens) join a small server and mess around/practise with guns vehicles etc while you wait for players to join.

The PC didn't recognise the file I had to change it to a 7 zip file just to get into it. Ran the launcher and it says I need to update to a newer version even though it's version FirstStrike_v1.4_Full1000[1]. Any ideas where I can get a better version that installs itself or am I doing something wrong?

It shouldn't have to be a 7zip... the program is on the sites as a .exe, all you should have to do is double click and the installer runs.

What I recomend doing is going into your download folder and delete anything first strike related.  If you have any download accelorators, turn them off and download the installer again.  Sorry for the inconvenience, you can get a direct link to the installer HERE

well the new patch worked but i can only go on one server....got on two but after i picked my wepons and stuff it kicks me back to desk top........is there anything i can do about this?

also i keep getting ....players with unmodified content cant join this server and to launch from desk top icon .....which i do?

VW-Spike.  I can't confirm this, but I do belive the "April Fools" content is in the latest build.  Only one server (which is offline at this moment in time) had the server-side update for this content.  Until build 1010 is released, you won't be able to join any servers.  It should be later today or early tomorrow, if it hasn't been done already.
