Re: Clone Wars TV Series

The Godzilla homage continues with a cracking episode as the creature gets loose and goes on a rampage through Coruscant. Lots of very cool moments in this one, a lot of foreshadowing too with the scientists wanting to harness the indestructible qualities of the Zillo Beast's armour, wonder if tech derived from that will somehow make it's way into the better Mk.II Clone Armour? Maybe they'll be wearing that next season? Who knows?

Re: Clone Wars TV Series

Yeah I was thinking exactly same about the phase 2 armour. But we saw in ROTS how they didnt work against lightsabers like the beast's scales did. But it would be damn nice to finally get phase 2 troopers in to the series, but im not betting on seeing them just yet...

I liked this episode too. As mentioned by Talon, plenty of godzilla references and couple of King Kong ones to go along aswell but overall it was a nice change of pace from the regular stuff.

Re: Clone Wars TV Series

Season finale commencing and starts off with a slower but still a nice episode "introducing" Boba to the series. Cant wait for next week as things get even more heated.

Re: Clone Wars TV Series

Aye, was a good episode, nicely building into bigger things. Was still a bit daft that the clone cadets didn't notice the extra guy going missing every five minutes, but still a very good episode, and am definitely looking forward to where this goes.

Also note the Captain of the Star Destroyer, Admiral Killian, definitely a knod to the comics artist Killian Plunket. Worked for Dark Horse doing a lot of Star Wars comics for them, and now works for the Clone Wars as a concept artist. I think he's Scottish too, explaining the reason for the Admiral's accent too.

Re: Clone Wars TV Series

Interesting end to the series this week, watched all three of the last episodes back to back (gotta love Sky Plus wink ), but I have to say all in all it ended up a little disappointing for a series finale, there were a lot of nice touches in there, but the whole didn't quite add up and there were a lot of niggles. For one, Boba is after Mace Windu, and when a transmission comes in showing Boba holding the remaining Republic officers who survived the last episode's cruiser crash prisoner unless Mace Windu comes to him. Mace wants to go but is still a little sick and gets easily talked out of it by Plo Koon who instead goes to hunt for the Bounty Hunters with the aid of Ashoka. That just sat a little odd with me. Boba Fett is threatening to kill prisoners unless Mace confronts him and he doesn't get right in there? So instantly you have sat your major characters on the bench and let two relatively minor characters take the lead, remembering that this is a season finale. There is good action to be had here and some interesting sequences, and Aurra Sing develops quite nicely as the villain of the piece, and young Boba Fett's character arc is relatively engaging, so there is a lot to like. Then the end arrives and Boba is captured and when they all return to Coruscant he faces Mace Windu and tells him he can never forgive him. So what pearls of Jedi wisdom or comfort does Mace offer the boy for the last line of the series?

"You'll have to."

?!? yikes

Eh? Perhaps they were aiming for an off the cuff response like Han's.

"I know."

To Leia's.

"I love you."

But if that was the case it didn't really work.

I thought the whole episode was a nod to Gwynzer's stubborness.
