Re: Clone Wars TV Series

Heh, yeah I was a bit confused by that bit at the end. I was like, um, isn't he free already?

I didn't mind the episode that much myself, but I feel your pain, there have been too many slow episodes in a row here since the adrenaline high of the season opener two parter, but it does look like they're leading up to some big action, especially if the season trailer is to be believed, perhaps there is so much going on later on they had to put together a few slower and cheaper episodes to produce so they could afford to do all the epic action later. Still it would be better to intersperse these slower episodes amongst the more heavily action orientated ones.

But with all that said I still really enjoyed this week's episode. A lot of foreboding going on, plot strands coming together for something bigger down the road, accents of Anakin's future fall from grace in the fashion that Ahsoka starts to have doom laden dreams regarding Padme, and some other nice subtle touches such as using Leia's theme to introduce us to Alderaan. And of course Aurra Sing is always good value for money when she appears on screen, can't get enough of her.

So yeah, really enjoyed it, but yeah, I'm chomping at the bit for some more action heavy episodes too.

Incidentally The Clone Wars starts this weekend on Sky Movies in the U.K, so get those first cool episodes watched on a nice widescreen telly with that dolby surround pumping out.

Re: Clone Wars TV Series

Excellent episode. We can easily lay the blame for the rise of Palpatine and the turning of Vader on Pornmay Skankidala thanks to her casual messing with Anikan's head in EpII.

Further blame can be layed at the feet of one senator Binks for voting for further executive powers for the Supreme Chancellor.

But now its Ashoka's fault for saving Padme. Had she died here, Ani would have went slightly nuts but Ashoka and Obiwan would have been able to pull him back from the brink.

So we can blame the Scrappy.

Looks like the C-3P0 & R2 kidnap episode is next, could be fun, though as this is a prequel leading up to Ziro the Hutt's jailbreak I can see that those who are getting a bit sick of all the continuity jumping are going to be very pleased.

Strangely enough they've thrown in another preview vid for next week's episode a little early for some reason, looks as though this could be very interesting though as it looks like it introduces Quinlan Vos to the Clone Wars series at last, which will be a big plus for fans of the Expanded Universe. At last we get to see him in the flesh after already being introduced to his ex-Padawan Aayla Secura in the prequel movies, and the big guy himself being name checked by Obi-Wan in Revenge of the Sith, I guess his arrival in the flesh has been a long time coming. If they make his character half as interesting as he appears in the various Dark Horse comics that he's featured in, this episode should be great.

Re: Clone Wars TV Series

Apparently they have started to make the characters look older. Already seen a sneak peek of upcoming "facelifted" Ahsoka. I just wonder, now that they'll start making the characters look older, will they restrain themselfs from making so many of these darned prequel episodes?

But I bet we'll have an episode taking place before all of these episodes what we have now and it has older looking characters.

Re: Clone Wars TV Series

The latest episode was a major let down, I think Cad Bane deserved another episode and I can understand an episode staring the droid duo, but putting both in one episode just felt mismatched. And it wasn't that tyhere was too much crammed into one episode it was that the episode just felt disjointed and useless. Also knowing the Cad gets the plans (for Hostage Crisis) and the droids come out scott free spoils any posible tension the show may have had.

Another poor attempt imo.

And Wow, talons video actually looks like star wars! I was expecting to really dislike the character of Savage until that video.

Re: Clone Wars TV Series

I quite liked the episode myself, but yeah, I'm definitely looking forward to some darker more action heavy episodes now, and from the looks of that Savage Opress preview the next episodes might just deliver on that.

The latest preview for the next episode 'Hunt for Ziro' doesn't look tooo shabby either. This could be more of the Cad Bane episode you're looking for.
