Topic: My FS Ideas

Here are all things that I hope get into the next Version:
-Better Singleplayer (better AI and all maps in SP)
-The Troppermenu from BF2142 ( that you can choose the grenades, armor)
-For the Officer 3 chooseable weapons ( Boba Fetts E3 would be fine )

Better Ai how? Path finding, or something else? The bots are pretty deadly and in fact I've heard more people complain about them being too accurate. Pathfinding is a seperate issue and there is only so much I can do on this front.

We are working on trying to integrate more maps for it though.

The selection menu...that would require a lot of work to make the menu and come up with more objects to make it worth using. I think the kits are pretty good as they are, with a standard loadout but choice of primary weapon.

The officer really doesn't need a weapon selection. His primary role is more that of support than front line fighting.

Yes they are really deadly. But they are walking all in one group. I know that a menu is not easy to design. It is only a idea you must not do it. With the officer you are right.

I like all of these ideas. I think the levels we have are not really designed for bots so they find it hard to get around. Multilevel buildings and uneven ground that requires jumping to traverse are the bane of bots.
They seem to walk around and shoot well enough though, as Twigs mentioned.

Weapons menu would be really nice, but armour poses some problems. First- designing player models wearing more armour. Maybe switching between scout and stormtroopers is easy enough, but then you need armoured alliance troopers. And in the movies they are not shown wearing lots of armour.
Secondly, theres a lot of Defense missions, where one side sits and waits for the other to attack. Defenders have no real need to move fast, so they gain no penalty for wearing armour.
Attackers usually come in on foot or on light vehicles, where they will likely need to get off and run at some point.

So armour may make attacking harder.

more guns and equipment selection would be nice. A heavy weapons guy having a choice between frag grenades, emp grenades, detpacks and at mines (pick 2) would make him a credible threat on any map, rather than half his kit becoming redundant on an infantry map.

A longer range officer weapon, like a semi auto light rifle with scope would be good for officers that don't want to get thir hands dirty but still want to contribute.
Even a zoom scope for the pistol would be cool, or a choice of pistol.

Maybe this is hard to do, but its still a fun idea.

Ah one idea more. You should make 2 magazines for each weapon. I love is to see the reload.

I totally agree with you man, the thing bots tend to do is commit suicide a lot, lol.

I really want armor too, but from what I've heard it's really hard for the Devs implement. Switching kit loadouts would be awesome too.

Also, I find the EMP grenades that the Heavy Weapons Specialist carry aren't very useful. Is it possible to make portable shield generators to deactivate for a couple seconds if hit by an EMP grenade? They would have a purpose then, add some variety to the gameplay and reinforce teamplay.
