Re: Clone Wars TV Series
One of the things that the EU likes to explore is that the Force really isn't as simple as light and dark- showing grey moralities and so on- wheras the films tend towards light and dark, good and evil.
This muddying of the waters allows for more gritty force users and darker and edgier characters.
The various witches and force sensitive groups outside the Jedi and Sith are interesting ways to play with the idea that the Jedi are not 'always right' or ' divine authorities' when it comes to the force.
This episode has a Neutral 'grey' father character whose children presumably started grey but tended towards opposite extremes. Thats an interseting way to look at the force by itself- the force is inherently neutral.
For years I'd understood 'balance in the force' was not an equal amount of light and dark but an absence of chaos- chaos brought about by the darkside.
This episode flies in the face of that a little, if I'm getting the allegory right. The Neutral father must now work to destroy or contain his dark son- the neutral force seeking to right the balance?
