I don't agree with the whole none swearing way of thinking but going off the railing because of a ban isn't very classy, especially after how many chances you gave him. Plus as you say it's a free service and you have to be grateful enough to heed to the owners wishes or at least realise that you may need to change your tone.

With language I take precedent that context is king and some swearing really is just part of the banter, even with the younger generation (especially in the UK).  Although I have always thought that online gaming communities should cater to the more mature and tolerate the young under the assumption that they will be able to adapt to the environment.

Ok, yes, some people may not agree with 'no swearing' but this applies only to the in game chat, ie that which you must type to put across. There is no restriction to VOIP or anything else. The restriction on swearing is for a couple of reasons:

A) Some people DO find it distasteful. They can choose to mute people they feel swear in a manner that offends them, but wouldn't have much control over game chat. So, lets just not type out offensive language if we can help it. Look, I'm in the military, I 'swear like a trooper' as they say, but if I know someone finds it offensive I wil make a conscious effort to curb it in VOIP!

B) People may be filming (FRAPS) or using BR footage and not know how to remove chat. Again, not swearing gives them a better degree of footage that can be used to cater to the masses.

C) Minors. Sure, in some countries the base game (BF2142) has an age restriction but Star Wars is PG. I do let my kids watch the game sometimes or have a go at doing something. I know I can abandon Vent/Teamspeak or mute someone to make it a better environmnet for them, but can't control what people type, so I choose to restrict it via server controls.

Regardless of how I talk and everything else I mentioned. I think that taking the time to actually type that choice of language is a little out of order. Its one thing to use it off the cuff chatting to someone, its quite another to actually write it down and send it.

But to then go ahead and tell me he's gonna come to Europe, track me down and carve an apology in to my corpse? Well, thats just mental and a whole new level of stupid. And yes, he did actually threaten that on PM to me on these very forums. Not sure he really knew what I do for a living either, "So what youve been in a few bar brawls? How many weapons are you experienced with? Your a brawler. Your not a fighter" just a short extract from another PM.

Sure, I've had my disagreements, arguments and what nots with a  few people during my time here playing FS. But then these same people have wished me well and safe return from tours in hot sandy places. This though...this is special. This has had me laughing for a week now.

I was polite to anyone involved until they started being a dick. then I got angry with them. People who where not a dick have not as yet tempted my wrath. Ive never been wrong. Ive never threatened someone who dident deserve it. Nor made a threat I couldent keep if it came to that.

Still trying to provoke me to get in a argument and then try n quote that out of context even though I was previously polite and calm because youve got NOTHING on me (even though out of context quotes are worthless)? You really are a single trick pony arent you kid?

And No. Ive got nothing to apologize for. I want a apology for you being a dick about it and provoking me.

First of all. My initial behavior was because of frustration with constant lag spikes. And was only said because to my knowledge everyone on the srvr was over 21 (Id say 18 but people that age are still not physically or mentally mature) and I knew them for long enough (2-3 years) that if they had a issue with my swearing theyd simply ask me to say something else. If I had known anyone was under 21 or not fond of swearing Id also have said something else. The swearing was also in the context of frustration directed at lag spikes not in anger directed at a person so it is completely different. And you dont see a problem with people getting shot on the computer game as long as they polite while doing it? you really do have questionable morals dont you? If anger is not the appropriate emotion in such a situation what is?

My anger with twigs after that was because someone I had considered a mate was being a dick about it. Dicks simply dont survive around me. Its not important how tough they think they are.

My anger with gwynzer was because he was 2faced, a dick for no particular reason and trying to jump in on something that was not his business. I had already said to twigs. Im going to leave talking to you until we've both calmed down, not as angry and can talk to each other logically so we could sort it out like men. I only did that because I like twigs when he's not being a dick. However. Being the fool that he is, Gwynzer did not want to leave it alone and then acted suprised when I got angry? What a git.

And no noob. That was not trolling. That was showing that his attempted ip bans are simple to get around. And there are many ways of doing it. As I said. I was still being polite. I was not getting nasty yet as I was not annoyed that much yet. If your polite. Im polite. If your a dick. Ive gotta put you back in your place.

Its simple. Dont poke a bear and you wont get mauled. Even simple people should be able to understand that. Or do you need me to say it in smaller words?
