Re: Pretty sad...

You said it'll be done by march. Then you change the date to the end of summer (which you all said it might be... but don't quote). Now, you basicaly cancle the mod.. and make it for another game... I don't think my attitude is being a 'spoiled brat'. Sorry if I don't like being lied to and mislead wink. I get enough of that from DICE/EA. Talk about getting your hopes and dropping them...

You say I'm spoiled? I'm giving suggestions to making this mod an approvement... better quality! Better graphics... better engine!!!! Because we all know, they will NEVER fix the bugs in BF2142 and you know it.

Re: Pretty sad...

If your talking about stafewars ..i mean quakewars ... then yea , maybe the graphics are better but the engine isnt better and ET or Q arnt as good as the BF series ..or as popular.

Your on about release dates being put back but if you knew anything you would know that for us to change engines then it would mean we would have to pretty much start from the beginning and the release date would be way further back.

Anyway, your entitled to you opinion

Re: Pretty sad...

"Lie" is a harsh word, we never made any official release dates just ill informed estimates, until you see a release date on the homepage it is just an estimate. If you want to know the truth we have 80% of the content to release the mod. Only problem is its not textured or coded, it seems we never factored that into our original estimates; a huge blunder on our behalf. And with Sch out Lead coder out of action, it slows down the process even more. When we can get more staff in these department the mod will move forward at a more exceptable rate.

What you and many people don't seem to realise is this is a charity we put in the eforts and desire to play the game just as much as you. You have no right to ask anything of us, what we do we do because we want to you don't pay us to make this mod. We have no commitment to it, except our own personal wishes.

By the way yur post sount is 28 approximately triple what you said, plus you have been here longer then most of the team, so I would have thought you would no what you were talking about. To think you're name was on the proposed testers list a month or so ago. I doubt it will ever be there again.

I have said it before and I'll say it one last time. I was one of the few team members who didn't want to move to 2142 but I the meeting where the decision (Timezones). I would have fought tooth and nail not to change engines, but I know why the decision had to be made. The No. 1 complaint about GC was Skimming walkers, 2142 was honestly the only way to truely correct this. The amount of time we have poored into developement of walker code far outwayed the results. Not to mention several other features.

If you no longer want to follow the mod; !@#$ off. Don't flame us for a decision that is in the mods best interests. Especially when several other threads exist already on the same topic.

Re: Pretty sad...

well put un-co,  my earlier anger against this descision has been subsided and I have learned to accept that it is truly best for the mod.  I realize now that our fanbase wont be hurt too much, when the mod comes out, we will gain more.  Other mods are making this descision, and I am all for the switch now.  My only worry now is that EA will completely blow 2142.  Buuuut, I will buy the game regardless, even if the mod is bad(it wont be).  I know I probably haven't been here near as long as others, but I grown an attatchment to this mod and I've never felt so welcome on any forum.  Thanks FS mod team for keeping your cool with everyone, keep up the good work.  I'm sorry about my earlier griping about the switch. Can't wait for the next update,

Jack

Re: Pretty sad...

Yes, I think your head might be in there just a little too far fuzz ;-).

Please, no offense, but your job at estimates... this mod will be released about 9 months after the release of Battlefield 2142. Quote me on that, please.

Yes, I will 'smurf off'. smile Excellent way to treat your fans... You all might say I'm a hypocrite and treating you like squeezey pooh... but if you think about it, I'm a good fan or else I wouldn't care so damn much. I warn you, you probably lost a good deal amount of the few fans. I might be but one, either way you should care.

Re: Pretty sad...

Guys id appreciate it if you kept a little decorum on this thread, yes your entitled to your opinions but we dont really want to keep hearing the same old things again and again.
We get the points being made and our decision is final. We have apologised, there is nothing much more to say on the matter.

Re: Pretty sad...

I'm sure this mod will gain at least as many fans as it might lose by going to BF 2142. every time there is a new game there are always new players that have never played the series before. I rememeber when The playable demo for BF2 came out there were so many noobs I got a gold medal almost every time. I don't want to see Tie fighters flying through tunnels that they dont fit in and bouncing off the pavement like in the video below.
