Re: Lock on Lasers.

Vectoring device! The N-1 had a similar device to stop backfires. Then in ep. 3 it evolved into a full fledged vectoring field. Why shouldn't a tie have something similar? Its a few degrees, not like a sideways shootin weapon.

Re: Lock on Lasers.

because in the history of the tie , they are made to be cheap, fast, low maintenens.
the reason the always fly in large groups.

the tie is fast enof to turn around and make 2 to 4 more round before they get shot at. (with good fighter pilots, not some actors tongue)

Re: Lock on Lasers.

I'm going to look into it, but I should think TIEs have the same ability.

UPDATE:

I found this, http://theforce.net/swtc/tie.html . Scroll down to about 1/4th the page, the fourth bar above the "Cockpits" section. TIE piolets do have the option of swivling their cannons a few degrees.

Re: Lock on Lasers.

I can't find any proof of this in the movies other than Vader's tie so I'd say leave it out.

Generalandrew the site says page not found.

Re: Lock on Lasers.

Thanks for telling me that. I've edited the URL to point to the correct location, the period at the end was read as part of the URL. I'm not saying I'm right either, I'm just showing what I found when I searched. I can't recall seeing anything like this in the movies either.

And their source....

"This card from the SWCCG game demonstrates the TIE's ability to swivel the aim of its weaponry, firing in directions different from the fighter's heading."
