I thought e11b was the one more prone to overheating due to it being uberglocked! it might be the other way round tho wink

anyways, one has faster rate of fire (leads to more damage) but has more spread and faster overheating, whereas the other one is slower but more accurate and not as prone to overheat.

Alright, that sounds much better with lore AND gameplay balance. The way TALON put it, sounded like a suped up version, and if it is so much more powerful then why would the regular version even be distributed?

Yeah, sorry, forgot to add the overheating part. I believe it is meant to be more accurate too though. But for sake of gameplay balancing we'll probably make it less accurate if it has the higher rate of fire.

According to lore it has an advanced cooling system that allows for the higher rate of fire that apparrently the standard E-11 is capable of too, but this firing mode can't be used much due to overheating problems.

The result is that the E-11b is a much more expensive peice of kit which would explain why they aren't in wide circulation.

Um, what? That doesn't make sense. You just said it has an advanced cooling system, yet it overheats.

No, I said that according to lore the E-11b has an advanced cooling system which allows for a higher rate of fire.

I then said that the standard E-11 is capable of this higher rate of fire, but is prone to overheating when it uses it. So it tends not to get used.

That said, we may well add an overheating feature to the weapon, after all if it fires at a rate that much faster even with advanced cooling systems it's bound to overheat at some point. I think the idea is that if you tried to use the higher rate of fire with a standard E-11 it would overheat and burn out it's systems a lot quicker than with the supercooled E-11b.

It's all a case of balancing between Star Wars lore, and the needs of balanced gameplay I guess.
