A few further ideas and ship allocations, added to Canadiens/Bandu's ideas:
Medical Frigate: grants slow healing to all infantry, and grants rapid healing to any infantry in the hangar of the frigate. The only interior is the hangar. Frigate is lightly armed and immobile.
Rebel - Neb-B
Imperial - Carrack
Communications ship: allows the commander to see all units. Also grants a UAV-like ability (given some star-warsy name, like "Targeted Scan"). No interior, and ship is lightly armed compared to other ships of its class.
Rebel - MC Cruiser
Imp - ISD
Fleet Carrier: Spawns advanced fighters (A-Wing, B-Wing, TIE/A and TIE/I) and shuttles. Large hangar is interior.
Rebel - MC Cruiser
Imp - ISD
Freighter: Fighters and bombers spawn with more secondary weapons (missiles/torpedoes). Unarmed completely.
Rebel - Gallofree transport
Imperial - Type-A Bulk Transport
Command Ship: Spawns basic fighters (X-Wings, Y-Wings, TIE/F, TIE/B). Has a full interior, with some capturable flags. Destroying the bridge or reactor core (not quite sure which one yet) destroys the ship and wins the map. Heavily defended inside and out by turrets. Moveable by commander.
Rebel - MC Cruiser
Imperial - Interdictor Cruiser or ISD (depending on map, as Interdictor has its hyper-stopping ability)
Gunship: Moveable, no interior (spawned into from map or from space). Armed with anti-fighter turrets. Crew of 3 (pilot and 2 gunners).
Rebel - Corellian Corvette
Imperial - Lancer Gunship

Now, I know only two types of ship is moveable, but if all ships are moveable it will cause literal and game crashes, as well as lag.
