Re: Auto-Destruct on abandoned ships

Oh my hamsters, lol. I'm not being obstenate or smart alec or anything, when i'm posting, but All I'm saying is, WHY is this a Big deal?

Is it currently aBig deal in BF1942 BF2 and BF2142, plus BF vietnaam, Special forces, the 2 booster packs, and BF modern combat on the consoles?

Not to mention any other online multiplayer game that has vehicles that carry more than 1 person?

So you get in with a Sucky pilot, so what you die you loose a point, If you can't Fly good yourself your resigned to getting in teh bakc and hopeing their a good driver, It's teh same in real life. For every car, bus, tram, Train, areoplane, Boat, Submarine, monorail, rickshaw, Taxi cab, Tandum Bicycle or rocket ship, etc do you ask for their driving Capabilities? and proof you won't die On route?

No,  You take your chances, Except in the game You can respawn, In life you can't, Hopefully this puts this silly argument into perspective tongue

Im all for no bailing!

So people who are about to die will simply suicide, instead of bailing.

Exactly what I was going to say. But it is kinda hard to press enter and press suicide when your getting shot down...

Re: Auto-Destruct on abandoned ships

I've had it up to here *raises arm above head* with all the whining about bailers, not being able to bail, being stuck with morons, smacktards, parachutes etc. And as much as you say 'its not about the points', Yes it ****ing well is, otherwise (and let's be honest here) no one would give a rat's a*** about bailers, as without parachutes they die either way.

You can't punish people for someone else's stupidity - and mods that do that are really not helping themselves. This is what the no bailing situation basically means. Points, at the end of the day, DO matter, they do provide people with a feeling of achievement ingame, and something that no one has mentioned...negative scores do provide one way to be kicked.

To be brutally honest about this, we either live with bailers, smacktards etc who will find a way to abuse things regardless (you aren't gonna stop kamikazes for example), or we have a game that is overly nanny state like that could end up being not that fun to play.

People will do things you don't like no matter how hard you try to stop them: Learning to live with them is part of being a well rounded person.

Schtop, it's not ready!

Re: Auto-Destruct on abandoned ships

Hmm...ok. Woodrow convinced me in IRC that the pros out weigh the cons in this situation. It's highly unlikely you'll be forced into a situation where if you suicide you'll get booted for a minus score.

You know what? This whole argument is pretty retarded. Either way, if you can't bail or can, it's barely going to effect gameplay. I'm done talking about it.

*click* I think the last two posts pretty much sum everything up.
