Topic: IL2: Forgotten Battles

I am suddenly in the mood to play a WWII flight simulator and I found that this one had great freedback. I just can't find any to buy hmm

It says the game was made in 2003 so I'm surpised that I can't find any. Do they make this game anymore?

Thanks

Re: IL2: Forgotten Battles

Secret Weapons over Normandy is quite good (made by Lucasarts) but is rather arcadey. It's not a flight simulator, but more of a flight game (its quite a lot like Rogue Squadron)

I remember IL2. It had a lot of good feedback. Just make sure you know how to fly a plane wink

Re: IL2: Forgotten Battles

Thanks for the replys. Woody the one that you pointed out seems to be the only one on sale, but for nearly $80.00, its just a little too expensive for a video game, expecially one that is not that recent.

So I'll try out the demo for Secret Weapons and hope for the best.

Re: IL2: Forgotten Battles

Ok, just remembered that Blazing Angels is out for PC. IGN says its ok but flawed; after reading the review it sounds like a much better version of Secret Weapons (which also isn't great). I thought it was going to be a PS3-only game, but seems not.

The graphics look amazing though, comapred to Secret's not amazing ones. Plus, you can use real bombers (unlike Secret, which only has fighter/bombers)

Re: IL2: Forgotten Battles

Downloaded the IL2 demo, and it's not too bad. A bit arcade-ish compared to Combat Flight Simulator 3, but not bad at all.

I recently bought the downright awesome Falcon 4.0, though (my first impressions can be found here), so I'm busy. Not to mention that the heavily computerized F-16 is ever so infinitely easier to fly than the World War II fighters. It's practically impossible to get it to stall, and taking off is a dream.
