Re: Locked or unlocked vehicles - and "vehicle classes"

One thing I always enjoy while playing games like BF, is sneak into an enemy base and steal a vehicle from hem to support my team smile

This is also nice when you crash landed with you're fighter near an enemy base. Im sure no one wants to walk to the nearest friendly base or wait for some pick up (that you never get most of the time sad)

Re: Locked or unlocked vehicles - and "vehicle classes"

Stealing vehicles from a base is the lame, seriously, if you think about it do you think one measly little rebel could just zoom in with a speeder and hijack a TIE fighter? No, thats rediculous.

I am all for not being able to steal arial vehicles, and certain land vehicles including the ATAT, ATST.

Han Solo are different because they have done that kind of thing before, Chewbacca probably had some expirience from the clone wars. And Han Solo from the Imperials, and he even says that they have snuck into other places before, which means they probably have a good understanding of imperial proceedures and vehicles.

And since Chewy and Han aren't in the mod I don't think stealing complex land vehilces should be allowed.

Re: Locked or unlocked vehicles - and "vehicle classes"

The fact that vehicles are stolen from bases is just another good reason to lock them. It's fun - for the person doing it. It's less fun for the people who play the map as the opposing team.

If a map's balance revolves around the fact that Rebels have two tanks and Imperials have two tanks, what happens when a tank is stolen and the armour ratio suddenly is 1:3?

While making a game, dont forget the gameplay itself. Even if you want to make a game close to certain lore. And why cant a rebel sneak into a base and steal an enemy fighter or whatever? If someone is a master of stealth, the theft of a vehicle will be successful, Im sure about that.

Then its the mistake of the opposing team. Get some anti-armor up, call in for a bomb run or whatever. Players will always find a way to take care of certain things, even with less resources.

I'm advocating locked vehicles largelly for the sake of game-play, as I've already stated.

If someone is a master of stealth, the theft of a vehicle will be successful, Im sure about that.

Talking about game-play... tongue

Vehicles really are overrated, I just love to blow them up big_smile

The more the enemy has the better, I'll let the grunts get shot while I sneak up behind it, that's my opinion.
