Re: What will you be doing with "SPRINT" ??

The empire/republic only had a set batch of clones, it was not a continuing process.
After the Empire was formed they started actualy recruting and training an army.
The clones then died off from service and life expiring and the army became pure new real people wink

And that's all there is to it smile

If anyone disagrees we can start a new thread in the SW discussion tongue

Re: What will you be doing with "SPRINT" ??

Well lore actually dictates that there were still a number of cloning facilities in use during the early years of the Empire, and that elite non-clone members of the Imperial military were put forward to be additional source clone material. Also apparently there were some theories that there was some limited experimentation with second generation clones (Clones derived from clone material rather than an original source) but this resulted in a watered down copy of the original sources abilities resulting in sub standard troops (probably a theory put forward to explain why Imperial Stormtroopers can't shoot for s*** tongue) As a result the Empire then recruited humans to bolster their Stormtrooper and TIE Pilot ranks, but only the best of the best would make the grade, and those of a certain frame of mind, that of unswerving allegiance to the Empire. But at the time of A New Hope there were still a number of clones in the Stormtrooper ranks amongst the humans.

But I think this thread has been somewhat derailed now.

Back on topic, would Wookiee's be able to sprint if they wore sneakers and eat less Wookiee Cookies?

Re: What will you be doing with "SPRINT" ??

I won't get into the whole lore aspect of Stormtrooper clones unless someone creates a thread specifically for it. Then I'll take it as a sign you guys would like to discuss it. ;-) Now, back on topic...

Re: What will you be doing with "SPRINT" ??

I must say (back on topic wink) that having now played the QUAKE WARS BETA the unlimited SPRINT (i.e. no stamina bar) really works well!!!!!

It means that you basically move around the map quicker and get to the action

You still get the "tactical" decisions of when to SPRINT (where you can't shoot) and when to run, when to walk, when to walk crouched,  when to stop / crouch to shoot, and when to go prone

Having gone back to playing BF2142 after QUAKE WARS it feels really "slow"

I appreciate it is a different game and I can live with that but this "slowness" is further emphasised by the SPRINT Stamina running out really quickly in BF2142

Bearing in mind that many FS players may also be playing QUAKE WARS and possibly CRySiS (which looks even faster that QUAKE WARS to me! yikes)

I would strongly recommend that the FS Devs consider removing the Sprint Stamina bar to allow people unlimited sprint to move around the maps (which does not remove any of the tactics decisions raised in this thread)

I also read that the QW Devs have actually altered the sprinting motion to allow the use of both arms to sprint when carrying a pistol or knife - so you really do run faster with a knife (as FPS Doug knows well! wink)

Re: What will you be doing with "SPRINT" ??

Personally I find QuakeWars , for all its nice graphics and cool building features, is a poor game (judging off the beta) that i shall not be buying.

The fighting mechanics feel very dated and far too fast. Therefore I wont be pushing for the abandonment of the sprint bar. However , i do feel bf2142's sprint bar doesnt last quite long enough. I dunno whether i am correct but it seems like its not as long lasting as it was in bf2(atleast without the unlocks)....where it seemed more realistic.

Re: What will you be doing with "SPRINT" ??

I didn't notice much diffference between 2 and 2142 but the stock walking speed in Joint Ops was much higher, and that felt better imo.

A higher stock and sprint speed would be very good imo.
