Wouldn't you then crash into walls? Or will it be WIDE tunnels which then would not be like the actual Death Star(remembers only about four ships fit side by side which would make it far too difficult to make a turn).

This was discussed at length over at that other mod's forums, and the conclusion was that it'd be a hard feat to accomplish. I think it could be done, though, and if it could, it'd be awesome. I think it'd play like the original Death Star I map (still in that other mod), only the "trench" would be a totally enclosed tunnel and there should probably be more than one (for game-play's sake).

If the surface of the DS was made vertical so that the tunnels were more or less horizontal, I suppose it could work nicely. It'd make for a very different type of map indeed.

I picture fighter pile-ups in the tunnels and dogfights in the main reactor tongue .

I don't mind short view distances. We'd be in twisting, winding tunnels and wouldn't notice it the least. Same as with ISD Judicator - 90% of the time you were in some enclosed corridor with lots of corners.

If they could do that properly by them selves, that person would have definately found their way onto the team by now.

I actually agree with this.  BF1942 mapping was a lot more accessible to people who had an investigative streak in them, but 2142 isn't looking great from an accessibility stand point right now.

I didn't really like the BF1942 mapping tools. I gave me no sense of scale, so I ended up making my small village about the size of New York. laaaag almighty
