Slyrunner - Check the dates of the original posts of the thread. Those are from an older news update. Start digging! wink

As for WF - I'm glad it's in. Most satisfying BF1942 moment: An enemy plane dropped its bombs on a nearby base, but was trailing smoke and running from AA fire. Flying away to the carrier for repairs, it was going to pass right over me. Unfortunately, I was low on ammo.  I pulled out my pistol and started firing -- the pilot saw me and turned to strafe, bearing down at me... and suddenly burst into flames, passed over my head, and crashed.  Can't wait to do that to a cocky TIE pilot with my blaster pistol. big_smile

Today's spelling/grammar tip: There = a (sometimes conceptual) place. "There is my car." or "There is such a thing as magic."  // Their = posessive. "Their meat is full of worms." // They're = contraction of <they are>. "They're crazy!" // "They're trying to put their shoes up there."

Re: Star Destroyer! Yee-haa!

I have painful memories of being strafed by Skyhoppers myself. Those things didn't last a second in a dogfight, but they could carry a passenger, making them good at securing control points quickly, and their single fast-firing blaster did a good job against 'soft' enemy targets, aka enemy infantrymen.

Re: Star Destroyer! Yee-haa!

All i remember about Skyhoppers is that they made great target practise for us TIE pilots. smile

Re: Star Destroyer! Yee-haa!

to a point stated earlier, i completely agree that withering fire seem kinda like the kits no longer are specialized. before, if a tank rolls up, u better hope there are some motions, or engineer near to take it out.  dunno, withering fire just seems to take away from the speclization factor u get in the 2142 vanilla or bf2 pr mod. now its like, a tank rolls up, but instead of get instead of getting your hiney outta there as fast as possible, now its lets all hide all over the place and surround it with your pistols? nades are annoying when in tanks beacause of the TINY damage they do, but still anoying, thats acceptable, but avery gun doing damage? kinda makes the gamu unfair for that veh driver dont you think?

not meaning to attack, just addressing an issue i have, which about now is the only one.

feel free to add me ingame, now pretty much solely EvilMr.GubGub, unless vanilla 2142 then still Spartankiller2

Re: Star Destroyer! Yee-haa!

Hmm I was actually pretty good in a skyhopper in begger canyon.  A tie fighter couldn't pull those tight turns very well.

On the WF is it meant for use to have more fun as squads so the players that hog the vehicles won't be the only ones with the high scores?

Its not really as useful as it sounds, trust me...Sure if you had an entire squad firing on you, your armor would go down significantly, but most of the time people are trying to hide from your tank/atst. Not only that but its only useful if EVERYONE takes advantage of it, which i doubt will be the case. If we find after a while that everyone is using withering fire and being an armor user becomes too frustrating, we will adjust the damages accordingly.
