I think they are going movies > games > books

This is not to say that there won't be EU-based maps, but the movies are the priority.  In other words, no blue proton torpedoes a la the X-Wing games.

The X-Wing series of books was based on the X-Wing series of games, and I seem to remember taking out an Imperial Star Destroyer using only a B-Wing in one mission....so, you know, everything has to be taken with a grain of salt and a dedication to gameplay, not necessarily 100% accuracy for accuracy's sake.

yay Canadiens to the rescue! lol.  yeah man dont you be throwing around lore! I know all lore that i need to know, I was just basing it off of what ive played of FS and the FS team and plus there are plenty of times in the x-wing books where a person had to sit tight and wait for someone to help him out...lore me again and ill eat your face big_smile

oh and im so for damage effects insted of that hp bar smile

Im honestly not sure about the books being based off of the games, but if games are your next credible source of information, x wing alliance has an extensive database of almost every flyable ship in the galaxy up to that time, including top speed/shield/hull/manuverability ratings and a lot more. Also, i don't think there was anything in the movies to point to tie fighters being faster than x wings in the first place.

Sure rougue squadron worked together, not saying you shouldn't have to, and if you know your lore you will remember the instance im talking about smile.  My point again though was that 1 tie fighter should be no match for 1 x wing.

Which part? the only thing i could think of that would make anyone think tie fighters were faster was when darth vader dropped in behind luke flying a tie advanced with 2 tie fighters in trail.  If you watch, he dropped in, not caught up rapidly, not to mention, luke was trying to get a lock on a very small target, obviously hes not going be going as fast. And yeah i know my lore too smile, im not just a random guy who doesn't know anything about star wars coming in here, in fact iv discussed everything iv said with 2 other huge star wars fans before i posted it to make sure i had my facts straight.

He was trying to get Artoo to boost the power to the engines to try and out run them!
theres also the part with the falcon but im not sure if they were going full speed or not but the falcon is a fast ship and those ties were flying circles around it
