I saw that too, but that is atmospheric flight.
Now that I think about it, I don't think that space ships have a max speed as such.
Since there is no air resistance they can just keep on accelerating until they run out of fuel. At which time they will be unable to slow down again
Of course light speed is the "hard" limit in our universe. Fictive laws may apply to fictive universes.

Very true vreki, although that just isn't very practical for the game or movies as im sure you realize .  So as some fs member said, not sure which one, they aren't using proper "newtonian physics" for space flight.  And your also correct in the fact that i was talking strictly top speed rather than acceleration, tie fighters do have a slightly faster acceleration than x wings, but thier top speed is the same.  And btw, us star wars nerds don't even bother converting to real world units, its MGLT here (Micro-Gravity Linear Tolerance).

tie fighter: 100 mglt
x wing: 100 mglt
tie interceptor: 111 mglt
a wing: 120 mglt
b wing: 91
Theres a lot mroe where those stats came from all from x wing alliance' database, which i think they would tend to trust more than wiki .

And no blitz i havn't experienced any jetwash, just kinda sat in behind a nebulon b and I wasn't taking any damage.
