we are catering to everyone type of player, not just one type. we are also catering to the movies.

This is only the first release guys plenty of more diverse and combined arms maps (thank hamsters!)

but one thing you seem to forget which is a technical achievment being overlooked is our Ships are much larger than the titan and have full 3D movement, Rotation pitch yaw, etc. Can you imagine if the Titan did that in 2142 whilst players were inside of it?

swings and roundabouts im afraid, if we want ships in space boardable were going to have to take away alot of their movement. although we are trying to counter act this by leaving the present ships as is with teh 3D movement and introducing Larger ships that have limited movement. but can be boardable.

We have many new ways to try and test before R2/R3, to get what everyone wants, but you are going to have to wait for these things to be made, tested and implemented, we can't magic poof things in 5 minutes to satisfy your craving now smile

(i realise most of you know this, but i'd thought i'd say it anyway) It takes alot of time to make and test things, so pleas try to be happy with the current release until we usher out more content in teh coming months.

I still kinda want to see how a land map will work, but with a few fighters avaliable for both sides.

I'd far, far prefer more infantry maps. 8 infantry maps to every 2 space battles. Or - if possible - some sort of "Titan" mode, in which you must board enemy capital ships to take them over. Integrating infantry players into the super starfighter borefest battles.

Another major problem that I have with all-starfighter-no-infantry battles? My lack of a joystick. Flying with the mouse and keyboard is simply not fun, which is why I always shunned the air assets in the other BF games. It isn't cool to force a keyboard/mouse grunt into a starship and expect him to be all that compelled.

As is, I quit a server as soon as it switches to a space map.

Keep in mind, I'm not disputing the quality of the space battles: the sound and modeling are top-notch. I've more a problem with the gameplay.

I'm just the opposite.  I want more space basttles.  I agree though.  I want boarding.  My favorite part of  2142 is titan maps, so I've been pretty much just having fun with the environment and nostalgia until ship battle.

The space battles aren't as fun for me either. They are really fun, but I just don't play them as often as the ground maps. Oddly though I LOVED the X-Wing series. I think because they were more of a sim. If we could have better targeting it would help. More control over speed, shields, weapons targeting. That's asking for a lot I know, but if the flying was more X-Wing / Tie Fighter-ish it would be almost perfect. Perfect would be boarding and having internal battles. big_smile
