The fact of the matter is, I am pretty sure, all most people want is to have the reassurance of having a few hundred extra shots they can use, regardless of whether it is accurate to the movies or not.
In the real world, actually I think someone said it was no real world just AFK, all the 1st world armies of the world, the grunts carry a huge amount of ammunition, so much it would be to much for a normal person to carry alone. big_smile

Then we are not talking about the need for reloading, but about how much ammo you carry.
If they wanted to they could just increase that amount without any need for reloading.

There are many intances in the books, and comics where they talk about and show a person reloading their blaster mid combat. It did not pop up in the movies becuase they were mock ups of old WW2 weapons, and all of them were glued togather so realistic reloading was out of the question.

In the Republic commando games you also have to reload your weapons, you also reload your weapons in SWBF/SWBF2, and you will in the PSP exclusive game too. It was something Lucas has admited he wanted to do but it would of made the fight sceens way too close tor real life and nobody wan'ted to see a hero get cought out in the open with one shot left in his power pack.

In the books they talk alot about the iner workings of blasters and how you do have to reload them but not often as they are meant to last a while. A good power pack will last you a few days at most in light use, but in heavy combat your going to have to reload alot faster and you need too keep your power packs charged. They are re useable.

So if you wan't the devs could make it so you only have to change out your power pack when you go to the ammo box, or power pack that players can use to recharge their blasters. This way you only reload when you need to and not every time you fire a shot and thus run outa ammo too quickly ala BF2142/BF2

Long live the Empire!

I am unwilling to accept the existence of material outside the orginal trilogy wink

Sure, but my point was that there was no need to add a reload animation if you just want more ammo, like it appears blaz3r1121 want.
You can just increase the existing ammo count.

But I suspect that the relative low ammo count is intended to encourage teamwork.

Re: Reloading

I suppose what everyone say makes sense in its own way.
I think that the only way it can be decided is to put i to a vote, whether people want

Reloading
Extra Ammo
Ammo stays how it is

I suppose if reload animations is such an issue then I suppose having extra ammo is better.
But I find that having a lower ammo count, but having a few extra mags in handy makes me check my aim, go for the headshot, then start pumping ammo, that way I use a lot less ammo. But with FS no extra mags and 100 rounds in the most basic weapon, I simply try to pour as much of it onto the battlefield before I die.

I may lead a double life full of secrets and deception, but that's no reason to be suspicious.

"Dolph tie up the brat. Lesa hold the book. Vincent get the truck. And Kieth... Darn it change your name. Please. That's no scary, and I'm embarrassed to say it. -Boris. Try That.
Keith. you know? Oh, watch out for Kieth."

Re: Reloading

IMHO I think reloading adds a nice touch to the "realism" of the game - that is if the devs think that reloading is part of the lore of SW. However, I think there are many more things that are more important as far as bug fixes, crash fixes etc., although it would be cool to have. Granted the devs did say that it would take a lot of time to implement an animation for each and every weapon, so I wouldn't put it ahead of the more pertinant issues at hand.

"Be mindful of your thoughts."

Re: Reloading

First fix the CTD, memory leaks and then maybe expand the game with reload animations smile

I even did find the ammobox of a wookiee bowcaster wink
