Re: Collision Avoidance System?

It's a player issue, not a mod-related issue.  If I am a Rebel pilot, and am on the tail of a TIE that already has two X-Wings tailing it, I'll usually back off to find other targets, or drop back and wait for additional TIEs to go after the two X-Wings.

It's just common sense.

Yeah, random collisions are annoying, but most of the time they are the fault of both pilots for not backing off.  I chalk it up to attrition and just say cool those jets, flyboy.

Re: Collision Avoidance System?

How would a 3D cockpit help?  In the middle of combat, there's not enough time to hold shift and completely abandon control of your craft for a few seconds of mouselook.  The fact that you lose control of pitch/yaw controls and have to fly straight negates any usefulness a 3D cockpit would provide in tracking enemy/friendly fighters.

The only benefit I could see would be for joystick pilots who would assign mouselook to a ball or axis or switch or something.

Otherwise what good would it be?

Re: Collision Avoidance System?

Don't you just feel like looking around though. Never know when you have that special lady riding shotgun and you want to point out the scenery..like the death of an ISD.

Comon men. There's a whole bunch of them right at the top of that hill waiting for you to shoot at them. So forward and up boys! Let's get this done.

Re: Collision Avoidance System?

Agreed, sometimes it's just fun to look around and admire the cockpit/surroundings, especially if others are flying near you. We can already do it in the A-wing, why not the others?
