Re: Getting the Community Popular Again

There is already a longer pause between rounds in a CG compared to normal games.  we could bump it to two minutes like PR does, I guess... see how many people wait that time and how much affect it would have.  30 seconds is pushing it for some people already, I'm afraid I won't increase the time to anything longer than it is currently.

30 seconds is fine, really, also gives people with slower computers some time to finish loading their maps before the match starts.

Re: Getting the Community Popular Again

So far i have seen many people get discouraged, just because the problems installing/launching the game.
Personally, Im frustrated with it.
The only problem i had before was the yavin deal.. easy fix.
I run vista64, and i have seen that quite a few of the problems are vista based.
As far as getting more players to come back and get new players to play.
set up a couple tournaments.

You could have FS posters made on the cheap to send to winners or somekind of rewards.

all kind of ideas out there.

Do..or do not, there is no try !

I'm sure I'm not the only one who's been rooting for you and a couple of others to get those mystery bugs sorted. Especially after trying just about everything the devs suggest.

But we have seen many get their problems sorted after a tip or two. (And we appreciate them remembering to post back the solution/results for others!)

All cool ideas.  I'd sign up for the Noob one. tongue

I would much rather see 2 minutes tried out, 30 seconds is not enough time to coordinate anything really. That's about time enough for one person to get 4 lines of text out through the rest of the spam and no one else is focused on the chat at that time anyways.

2 minutes makes everyone simmer down and focus on the chat better because it's all they get, thus giving coordinators much more space to get out directions without getting spammed with 'lols' and 'yay [mapname] is on' input.

And 2 minutes really does fly pretty fast when you are trying to coordinate. Always get popped ingame a little to early even in PR with 2 minutes.

Fine, tyler.  Just for you I'll bump it to two minutes.  Lets see how many players we LOSE becase of it.  This isn't PR, we have different styles of players to PR.  If you can't organise a FS team in 30 seconds, you sure as hell can't do it in 2 minutes.

I love PR but this isn't PR.
