Darkness on Umbara
This post contains spoilers!
In my honest opinion this is the best episode thus far in this season. I waited for some proper clone action and now we've got it. Especially like it how the phase 2 troopers are finally given some good screentime. Not to mention its very freshing to see non-droid Confederate troops up against the Republic. Some scenes reminded me of all those vietnam war movies... you know what I mean once you see *that* scene...
Now to think of it, this episode is nothing but full of different well-known war movie scenes. I mean stuff that happens in like every second war movie the same way and so on.
During the slight retreat we can see the AT-RT driver(s) waving their blasters in their hands and firing behind them. Wouldnt it be easier to cover your retreat by reversing with the walker and using the main gun instead of having limited vision of enemy whereabouts and worse possibility to hit anything (worse than in this series in general...)? Nitpicking aside...
This new Jedi master who came down to boss Rex and his men, I like him. He shows that he doesnt give a toss about what you think and he makes it very clear he is in charge. I also like it how he is obviously playing against all Jedi rules (killing for offense, not for defense). He addresses the clones with their proper names, not nicknames, which naturally causes friction amongst the men he leads. Altho I like a strict and powerful leadership, this guy doesnt give the clones any slack. Not to mention he loves direct assaults into enemy positions, russian style human waves. Screw tactics when you got an amble supply of men who were manufactured only for this purpose, to be disposable.
I can see the clones accompanying him being veeeeery happy once the order 66 is issued.
So the clones get ambushed. So... what...?! The ambushers cant hit a barn wall anyway so the clones are perfectly safe.
Anyway, it was a thrilling episode. I can honestly say I enjoyed this and I am looking forward to next episode.
