i agree more space, a 1 to  1 map ratio would be nice......1 space for every 1 land map...

this mod is the S%#T!  Much better then vanilla 2142.....

I dunno space is ok and it's well done I think, but I definitely feel that the ground battles are more intense and that the gameplay on the ground maps is way more fun. It must be a very subjective matter though since it seems that many people like space maps. I would still rather see more ground than space maps however, although this isn't likely to happen IMO since space maps are easier to create than ground maps.

I like the space maps much better than the ground maps, it's a no brainer for me especially with the lag that the ground maps get all the time, and I also pretty much suck at flying.

Funny that others say they disconnect when a space map comes up, I hit disconnect when a ground map starts loading.

Personally I have a thing for smaller infantry maps. I'm all about intense action and dying 100+ times to gain 1m of ground.

If I with to make another map for the mod (I never signed up for that), its more than likely gonna be an interior design... A ship perhaps. I'm not so ambitious I'd tackle an ISD though, haha.

I'm an old x-wing player, the kind who recognises that Arcade machine mainly because Irelands arcades are v. backward.

I love the space maps as they stand, but they definitely need a little more detail.

For further space/infantry map types I'd suggest allowing capital ships to either/or:

-Spawn fighters/transports (for boarding) using a squad leader beacon style thing

-capture CP's in space, giving the fighters another reason to protect them.

If you want to introduce infantry boarding operations, allowing Storm trooper transports to be piloted like fighters, and spawned in (ala transport craft in titan maps in vanilla) would be a good way of doing it.

The boarding targets could be stationary- crippled ships (ISD?) space stations (again like the titan maps, racing to board and control space stations, or CP's therein.)

You know what would be cool? A reverse titan map, with repair teams trying to FIX critical systems in a ship.

As regards the Infantry maps, which i've also played and like, they seem to channel people too much. I've been seperated from my squad and, in order to catch up I have to follow the path they took rather than intercepting them.
As I understand it, you're trying to channel squads into each other to avoid flag hopping and squads avoiding each other. Thats good, but you may have cut a little deep with that knife.

On squadplay- i don't think it should be forced, but i've had my best experiences in squads. It makes it a lot easier to win than a bunch of loners getting picked off, the support mechanism is excellent.

what we need are 2 servers: 1 64 space battle 24/7 and one 64 infantry 24/7.
i like both (got a joystick aswell), but if you search about 4 out of 5 servers are playing a space map and the infantry server is just for 32 people.
