The A-wing was not deployed during the battle of Hoth, but came into play during the Battle of Endor. They simply weren't developed yet at that time.

are you sure about A-Wings beening apart of the hoth battles?

They blow up. :-p

The turrets on the Star Dest dont serve a purpose atm

if think the turrets are auto......but what about the four that are next to the bolk of the SD that rotate. ( the BIG laser cannons)???

Guys, those smaller turrets are VERY effective vrs Gallofrees, which is why you will porbably see me yelling at you in that map about taking them out. It takes them like 15 seconds to target you, but once they do you are toast within 15 more seconds.

The bigger ones don't target as well yet, but they will probably be player controlled in R2, and the control stations will probably be behind the TIE hanger. But that is really just speculation for now tongue

Not entirely true. They are currently believed to be fully automated, but they sometimes do come to life and fire bolts at nearby snubfighters (X-wings and Y-wings) particularly if said fighters are attacking the rotating high-caliber cannons higher up on the star destroyer.

That said, sometimes an imperial player will get a kill in a "turbolaser", which is strange since there are no other turbolasers on the map (the turret on the lancer shouldn't count as a turbolaser). This implies that maybe there is a way to man those turbolasers after all. If there is, it sure is well hidden though.

These cannons are definitely fully automated. I've been testing out the map's features by playing alone as rebel on an empty server, and those cannons will blow your gallofree to smithereens if you get to close even though there isn't a soul playing on the imperial side.

What?!? Are you saying it is in fact the small turbolasers that blow the gallofrees to dust in two seconds?? I think I've seen them fire at me while riding in a transport before, but they haven't done much more damage than a TIE fighter or perhaps a TIE bomber... certainly not enough to destroy a transport in a shorter time frame than a minute. I was sure that it was the big ISD guns that were responsible for that.

See this thread for more information on the map.

Re: Escape form HOTH....

HELL YES THEY DO.

I had 50% Armor in my Gallo and the second one of those things targetting me I saw that bar going down like, well I dunno what goes down fast... But it was gonig down fast... I and 2 others were dead about 6 seconds later. I didn't even have time to think about deploying shields.

Re: Escape form HOTH....

Gallofrees have a top and bottom sheild, fire for the top shield and alt fire for the bottom, it only lasts like 2 seconds or something though, so try tp use it only at the right times.

Does that mean that you get 2 seconds of shielding each time you click the button?
Because I have just been holding the button down, would I be better of clicking every 2 seconds?
