Re: Give the Dev team some feedback on what you think makes a good map

The best thing about a map is providing the basic framework for a great firefight, but letting the players choose their battles and not forcing them down any certain gameplay paths to the CPs.

Taloraan works wonderfully because you get a different fight every time.  It's completely in the hands of the players to organize and get together to attack the enemy.

Ground comkbined arms maps are the hallmark of the Battlefield series, and FS is in desparate need of one or two (NOT ON TATOOINE).  Just pick some nice EU planets like Corellia and Naboo and give us a huge open ground/air space to play with.

Its just that on so many BF maps "combined arms" end up meaning "vehicles raping infantry"
IMHO Mos Espa doesn't really get fun until the AT-ST has been taken out. Unless you happen to be driving one of course smile

Re: Give the Dev team some feedback on what you think makes a good map

I love the look and feel of Mos Espa, but sometimes it feels stifling ... that is sometimes it feels more like a maze than it does a map.

My biggest suggestion for future FS maps is to continue to focus on their main strength ... their diversity. Mos Espa, Endor, and the Night Tatooine all feel very different and so each map has its own feel and flavor. After a Hoth ground map I'd say keep new ground maps diverse so that each map stays unique.

Maybe a futuristic urban map would be cool, like somehting on Corescant or some other futuristic city landscape.

Eventually I would like to see SOME mixed-arms maps, like perhaps Y-Wing bombers on a ground map, and of course a map or two that are more focused on vehicles versus vehicles. T2-B's and the heavy Rebel tanks versus Imperial tanks (do they have any?) would be a lot of fun. Throw in some Y-wings and other vehicles and it would be a blast.

Re: Give the Dev team some feedback on what you think makes a good map

Have you ever played a "point of existence" mod push map? They made it so that the fight was constantely centralized. I DONT know how they did it but it doesnt seem to work as good on FS push maps.

Nobody plays that mod anymore big_smile but it was good.

I like FS. FIFA and FS are the only games I play on the PC.

I think as a sodier beiing afraid of these vehicles adds more tension to the game. It brings a greater experience. Most vehicles you can hear coming from miles away so you have enough time to get some cover.
